What Information Do You Need to Get an Auto Glass Quote?

Juan Quote V-2

You notice a crack in your windshield, pull out your phone, and start looking for a replacement quote. You probably want a simple answer to one question: How much will it cost?

At Cali Auto Glass, we receive multiple quote requests from our website every day. To provide an accurate estimate, we first need to identify the correct glass and understand exactly what service your vehicle requires.

That is why our online quote form asks several questions about your vehicle, its features, and the damaged glass. Here is what you will need when requesting your quote and why each detail matters.

Your Vehicle’s Year, Make, and Model

Begin with the basic information about your vehicle:

  • Vehicle year
  • Vehicle make
  • Vehicle model

For example:

2022 Toyota Camry

This information gives us a starting point for identifying the correct replacement glass. The same vehicle model may use different windshields depending on its year and included safety features, so all three details are important.

If you are unsure about your vehicle’s exact model, you can usually find it on your registration or insurance documents.

Does Your Vehicle Have ADAS?

Our quote form asks whether your vehicle has ADAS. You can answer:

  • Yes
  • No
  • Unsure

ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. These are the safety features that help drivers avoid accidents and stay aware of road conditions.

Your vehicle may have ADAS if it includes features such as:

  • Lane-departure warning
  • Lane-keeping assistance
  • Forward-collision warning
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • A camera mounted near the rearview mirror

This question matters because some ADAS cameras are mounted on or look through the windshield. After the windshield is replaced, the camera may need to be recalibrated so the vehicle’s safety systems continue working correctly.

Not sure whether your vehicle has ADAS? That is perfectly fine. Select “Unsure” on the form. We can help you determine whether your vehicle has these features.

Does Your Vehicle Have a Rain Sensor?

The form also asks whether your vehicle has a rain sensor. Once again, you can answer yes, no, or unsure.

A rain sensor automatically activates or adjusts the speed of your windshield wipers when it detects moisture on the glass. It is commonly located near the rearview mirror.

Windshields designed for vehicles with rain sensors may differ from those made for vehicles without them. Telling us about the sensor helps us identify the correct glass for your vehicle.

If your windshield wipers turn on automatically when it begins to rain, your vehicle probably has a rain sensor. If you do not know, simply choose “Unsure.”

What Type of Auto Glass Service Do You Need?

The next step is selecting the service you believe your vehicle needs. The Cali Auto Glass quote form includes the following choices:

Rock or Chip Repair

Choose this option if your windshield has a small chip or similar area of damage.

Not every chip can be repaired. Its size, depth, position, and distance from the edge of the windshield can affect whether repair is possible. If the damage cannot be safely repaired, we may recommend replacing the windshield.

Front Windshield Replacement

Select this service if your front windshield has a large crack, extensive damage, or another problem that may require replacement.

The windshield provides visibility and contributes to the structural safety of your vehicle. A badly damaged windshield should be inspected instead of ignored, especially when a crack is spreading or obstructing your view.

Rear Glass Replacement

Choose this option when the large window at the back of your vehicle is damaged or shattered.

Unlike the front windshield, rear glass often breaks into many small pieces. It may also contain defroster lines or other built-in components that need to be considered when identifying the replacement glass.

Door Glass Replacement

Select this service when one of the movable side windows in a vehicle door is broken.

The quote form will then ask which window needs to be replaced:

  • Driver-side front
  • Driver-side rear
  • Passenger-side front
  • Passenger-side rear
  • Quarter vent glass

Choosing the correct location helps us identify the glass before contacting you about the quote.

Windshield and ADAS Calibration

Choose this option if you need a windshield replacement and your vehicle’s driver-assistance camera requires recalibration.

Proper calibration helps ensure that safety features such as lane warnings and automatic emergency braking receive accurate information about the road ahead.

If you do not know whether calibration will be needed, you can still submit your request. We can help determine what your vehicle requires.

ADAS 360 Blind-Spot Calibration

Cali Auto Glass also provides ADAS 360 and blind-spot calibration. This service may be needed when cameras, radar units, or other sensors require adjustment.

If a warning light appears or a safety feature is not working correctly, let us know when we contact you.

Window Tinting

You can also use the form to request information about window tinting. Your vehicle details help us understand its window configuration and prepare the appropriate quote.

Your Name and Contact Information

After entering the vehicle information, the form asks for:

  • Your name
  • Email address
  • Phone number

We need this information so we can respond to your request, ask any necessary follow-up questions, and provide your quote.

Please double-check your email address and phone number before submitting the form. One incorrect number or letter could prevent us from reaching you.

Your ZIP Code

The form also asks for your ZIP code.

Cali Auto Glass serves customers throughout the High Desert, including Victorville, Apple Valley, Hesperia, Adelanto, and surrounding communities. Your ZIP code helps us confirm your location and determine service availability.

Will We Need Any Additional Information?

Sometimes we can prepare a quote using the information submitted through the form. In other cases, we may contact you for another detail before confirming the correct glass and price.

For example, we may ask for:

  • Your Vehicle Identification Number, or VIN
  • A photograph of the damaged glass
  • A photograph of the area around the rearview mirror
  • More information about your vehicle’s cameras or sensors

This does not mean you completed the form incorrectly. Some vehicles have several possible windshield or glass configurations, even within the same year and model. A little additional information helps us avoid quoting the wrong glass.

Requesting a Quote Is Easy

You do not need to know the technical name of every sensor or feature in your vehicle. That is our job.

Simply provide your vehicle’s year, make, and model; answer the ADAS and rain-sensor questions as accurately as you can; choose the service you need; and enter your contact information and ZIP code.

If you are unsure about an answer, say so. We would rather help you identify a feature than have you guess.
